Port Lincoln Drink Driver Blows Nearly Five Times Legal Limit

A woman has been reported for drink driving after she allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level nearly five times the legal limit on Saturday evening at North Shields.

At just before 8pm on Saturday, a member of the public reported a white ute driving erratically along the Lincoln Highway. 

The woman who was driving the ute, was taken to the Port Lincoln Police Station to undergo a breath test where she registered the high reading of 0.235. 

The 51-year-old woman was reported for drink driving and driving without due care. 

A second driver was reported by Police on Saturday after being caught drink driving in Port Lincoln. .

The man was stopped at approximately 11.45pm on Saturday on Cronin Avenue. 

The driver, a 41-year-old Port Lincoln man, allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.106. 

Both drivers lost their licences on the spot, had their vehicles impounded for 28 days and will be summonsed to appear in court at a date to be set.
