At Home Diabetes Test To Help Isolated Eyre Peninsula Patients

Diabetes test

A simple at-home blood test could help identify Eyre Peninsula residents who are at risk of pre-diabetes and type-2 diabetes.

MyHealthTest can be ordered online with patients performing a finger prick test at home with the sample sent by mail for laboratory analysis.

Diabetes Researcher, Doctor Nick Fuller, says the results can then be shared with health professionals who can advise on diet and lifestyle changes.

"The MyHealthTest offers an additional option for people to conduct a simple diabetes test at home" said Fuller.

"Importantly, people taking the test should take their results in to the regular General Practitioner to discuss any concerns they might have".
