Severe Weather Warning Issued For Today

A severe weather warning for damaging winds has been issued for most of the state including the Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and parts of the West Coast and Eastern Eyre Peninsula.  

Strong to damaging northwest to westerly winds around 50-65 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are forecast, most likely with squally showers and thunderstorms. 

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Maitland and Kingscote. 

The State Emergency Service advises that people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees and stay indoors where possible, away from windows, while conditions are severe. 

Police are also urging road users to take extra care when driving.
