Locals wanted to take flight for coastal safety in Streaky Bay

Surf Life Saving SA is on the lookout for locals in Streaky Bay to take to the skies as volunteer drone operators.

A new community-managed drone will boost coastal safety, helping with rescues, water surveillance and event monitoring.

The move follows a coastal risk assessment identifying the need for a community-managed drone to boost coastal safety and emergency response.

Volunteers will receive free training and gear is provided.
