The District Council of Tumby Bay has appointed Luke Moane as its new Chief Executive Officer, with his term set to begin on June 9, 2026.
Mayor Geoff Churchett welcomed the appointment, describing Mr Moane as a highly experienced local government leader with strong ties to the Eyre Peninsula.
“Luke is a highly capable and experienced leader with a strong background in local government,” Mayor Churchett said.
“His knowledge, leadership and connection to the Eyre Peninsula will be a great asset to our district and community.”
Mr Moane joins the council from the District Council of Elliston, where he has worked as Director of Essential Services and Assets and has also served multiple stints as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
During his time at Elliston, he contributed to organisational improvements including strengthening procurement processes, modernising asset management systems and enhancing operational practices.
Mr Moane said he was looking forward to beginning the role and engaging with the community.
“I am looking forward to joining the Tumby Bay community and working collaboratively with Elected Members, staff and the broader community,” he said.
