Robert Plant Says The Music Industry Today Is “Dull”

In an interview for The Project Robert Plant explained the era to Ryan Fitzgerald. “First of all it was a very prolific time,” Planet explained. “Artistically, writing and the dynamism of music then, everything from Simon & Garfunkel through to Frank Zappa, the whole thing was on fire”.

He says that because artists have lost control of the creative process the industry has become “dull”. “All that stuff came from what happens when there is no real control. The organisation that follows an artist these days is so dull,” he said.

However, Robert Plant does like one new band, Greta Van Fleet, a band that sounds exactly like … Led Zeppelin. “There is this band in Detroit called Greta Van Fleet. They are Led Zeppelin 1. The kid looks like he has just dropped out of a … beautiful little singer. At least he has a bit of style because he said be based his whole style on Aerosmith”.

Josh Kiszka fronts Greta Van Fleet and emulates the sound of Robert Plant near-perfectly. “He borrowed it from somebody I know every well”.
