Dodgy Tax Scam

Scams. There's heaps of them around at the moment. Some are even trying to take advantage of the tax season.

The email in the picture above looks quite real. It recently surfaced and involves a fake myGov form offering a tax refund.

It claims to come from myGov with the subject line, "Important information regarding your account".

Your asked to click the link to claim the refund - but the link takes your to a fake (yet convincing) page asking you for personal information and bank details.

"It's tax time and the common scam email informing that you're eligible for a tax refund is doing the rounds again," a Stay Safe Online warning said.

"Scammers have long used the promise of a tax refund to trick people into sharing their personal information or to download malware."
