Shadow Minister for Police, Local Government, Regional Population & Planning

Sam is a fourth-generation local farmer and is raising his family with his wife at Ungarra.

Sam served on the District Council of Tumby Bay for more than a decade after being elected in 2010, and served as Mayor for more than seven years.

Sam was also the President of the Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA SA) from 2018-20, and in various roles on the LGA SA Board for a total of 7 years.

Sam was on the Australian Local Government Association Board for over 3 years, and was the President of the Eyre Peninsula Local Government Association for more than 4 years. Sam is a passionate EP community member and has been involved in various community, church, and sporting groups, as well as having strong involvement in youth leadership and mentorship.

Sam can help with many issues, including Ageing and Disability, Arts, Child Protection, Community Services, Education, Emergency Services, Environment, Fair Trading Health and Public Hospitals (but not Medicare), Local Government, Main Roads, National Parks, Planning, Police, Primary Industries, Regional Development, Small Business, Social Housing, Sport and Recreation, Tourism, Transport, and Water Management.
