Transport related injuries are the leading cause of death and the second most frequent cause of hospitalisation in children aged 0-14 years. Child car restraints reduce the risk of injury in a crash. However, the best crash protection is provided when the restraint suits the age and size of the child, and when the restraint is installed and used correctly. Our fitting services consistently find that 70-80% of restraints are used or fitted incorrectly, putting children at 7 times greater risk of serious injury in a crash.
