A historic lifeboat will soon be on display in Cowell…
The schooner from the Milford Crouch – which capsized while heading to town to load wheat in 1959 – will be housed in a new shelter as part of the Cowell Foreshore Development.
Five lives were lost when the boat sank, with no trace of the crew ever found despite extensive searches.

Franklin Harbour District Council CEO, Shane Gill says the concrete for the shed has already been poured across from the playground.
The repaired lifeboat will be caged with information boards also installed.
