Australia’s First Dual Ag/Auto Apprenticeship Launches in Cleve

An Australian-first apprenticeship program has launched in Cleve this week.

The first dual agricultural and automotive apprenticeship program was unveiled at the Motor Trade Association SA/NT Cleve facility on Monday 7 July.

Backed by the South AUstralian Skills Commission, the groundbreaking program combines agricultural mechanical and automotive electrical training, and equips apprentices with the expertise to navigate complex machinery used in modern farming.

With 140 apprentices already training at the Cleve workshop from across the Eyre Peninsula, the facility is now a national leader in future-focused trade education.

Minister for Education, Training and Skills, Blair Boyer praised the program for allowing South Australia to set the pace nationally in training innovation.

“[It] equips apprentices with the skills needed to support our agricultural sector and adapt to rapidly evolving technology,” he said.

The new dual trade apprenticeship is offered in Cleve, Royal Park and Bordertown.
