The Port Lincoln Council has secured more than $450,000 in Federal Government funding to improve safety at a high-risk intersection.
A $453,000 grant through the Black Spot Program will go towards constructing a single-lane mini-roundabout at the intersection of Verran Terrace, Luke Street, LeBrun Street and St Andrews Terrace.
The site has been identified as a priority by Council due to its high number of traffic conflict points and a recent history of crashes resulting in minor injuries.
Works will include a mini-roundabout, upgraded footpaths and kerb ramps, new signage, line marking and improved lighting to enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians.
Mayor Diana Mislov said the funding is a significant step forward for community safety, with construction expected to begin in the second half of 2026 following design and community consultation.
