Another bronze sculpture is on the way for the region…
Port Lincoln artist Ken Martin has been commissioned to create an osprey statue, adding to his already impressive list of creations which can be found on the Eyre Peninsula and Adelaide.
It’s currently in the plasticine stage, with Mr Martin saying it will take around 400 hours to complete ahead of casting it in bronze.
He’s using photos from the community and measurements taken from a deceased osprey to get the sculpture anatomically correct with the wings spread out.
Ken’s other works include the Tuna Poler ad Makybe Diva in Port Lincoln, and a life-size statue of jockey Kerrin McEvoy in Streaky Bay.
