Two Eyre Peninsula towns are among the top 10 in the running to be named South Australia’s 2025 Agricultural Town of the Year.
Cummins and Kimba have been shortlisted from 96 nominated towns across the state, recognised for their innovation in farming, community resilience, and contributions to the state’s agricultural sector.
The award celebrates towns that lead in agricultural development, sustainability, and local leadership.
Primary Industries Minister, Clare Scriven, said the nominated towns reflect the breadth of agricultural excellence across the state.
“Despite the current drought impacting many regional towns, it is inspiring to see these communities stepping up and embracing innovation in primary industries, while fostering meaningful connections within their communities,” she said.
Each of the top 10 towns will now provide written submissions to an independent judging panel, with three finalists selected for town visits later this year.
The shortlist includes Bordertown, Cummins, Jamestown, Keith, Kimba, Lameroo, Mount Pleasant, Orroroo, Port MacDonnell, and Strathalbyn.
Kimba is no stranger to the spotlight, having taken out the title in 2021 and was a finalist again in 2024.
Wudinna also famously won the award in 2023.
The winner will be announced later in the year and awarded a town entrance sign, trophy, community celebration and state-wide recognition.
