Eyre Peninsula farmers and producers are being reminded to tag their sheep and goats with eID tags.
From January 1st this year, it is now mandatory for all sheep and farmed goats born this year to be identified with an accredited eID tag.
Mandatory tagging for older sheep and goats won’t come into effect until January 2027.
A rebate is available for eligible eID devices purchased between 2023 and 2025 that are not aligned to the NLIS year-of-birth colour system.
SA sheep and goat producers with an active PIC can apply for 50% of the purchase price (to a cap of $0.95 GST exclusive) per tag.
