Seven towns are up for the top prize in the latest SA Top Tourism Town Awards, but sadly none of them are on the Eyre Peninsula.
The awards from the SA Tourism Industry Council recognise towns that offer excellent visitor experiences and are committed to developing tourism in the region.
This year, towns in the Riverland, Mid North, Flinders Ranges, Yorke Peninsula and the Murraylands are running, with President of the Local Government Association, Dean Johnson, saying the awards are a fantastic way for South Australians to highlight their favourite spots.
In the last two years, Eyre Peninsula towns have also failed to win an award, with Renmark and Moonta taking out the top prize in 2022 and 2021.
