Flinders Highway will undergo a crucial upgrade aimed at enhancing road safety after being identified as a priority for improvements.
The SA government is allocating $10 million for regional road safety treatments from 2024 to 2027.
The local upgrade will focus on the section from Wangary to the junction at Western Approach Road, after four crashes were reported in this area between 2019 to 2023.

The upgrades will include shoulder sealing, audio tactile line marking, safety barriers, and warning signage – with a price tag of $2 million.
It follows the addition of a southbound overtaking lane at the Tod Highway intersection, last year.
Work is expected to start later this year and finish in early 2025.
