As the school holidays kick off on the EP, police are calling on travellers to make sure they plan and prepare for their trips in advance.
Locals are being encouraged to check their vehicles are in good working condition, their tyres have adequate tread, all lights are operational and the vehicle has been properly maintained.
Last year, SAPOL spent more than 120 daylight hours searching for stranded travellers in the outback.
Acting Assistant Commissioner for SAPOL’s Security and Emergency Management Service, John de Candia, said he’s asking all South Australians to plan and prepare for their holiday travel.
