Local lead-foot drivers target of police operation

Lead-foot drivers were the target of a recent SAPOL operation.

Last week, Operation Safe Speed detected 384 people committing speed offences on SA roads – 9 of which had their cars impounded.

Police are concerned about the number of drivers choosing to drive over the speed limit.

Superintendent Darren Fielke says every driver choosing to exceed the speed limit – even by a few kilometres – is putting themselves and others at risk of a serious or fatal crash.
