The annual Sunday Funday at Fishery Bay is coming up this weekend to share the stoke of the bay and the salty community.
Organiser Ngahuia Trewartha says the day will begin at 11am with an acknowledgement of country and blessings for the environment.
“We have a really wonderful EP surfing culture, so this is a time for us to come out and gather in the community, Ms Trewartha says.
“This is our third one in a row that we’ve done… I’m from New Zealand, so culturally, we like to bring in the new season with a gathering – a hui – by the sea and send best wishes for the new season.”
Don’t forget to bring along sun-smart gear, food and water.
