South Australia Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Port Lincoln, believed to belong to alleged murder victim Julian Story.
Just after midday on Wednesday, police were contacted by a member of the public who had found a human skull while walking their dog in scrubland near Kirton Point.
The area where the remains were located had not previously been searched and was not considered a point of interest during earlier investigations.
Police say the remains will now undergo forensic testing to confirm the identity.
Mr Story was allegedly murdered on June 17. His partner, Tamika Chesser, has been charged with his murder and remains in custody. She appeared in court via video link from James Nash House this week on unrelated matters.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are expected to release further information once testing is complete.
