A new report released this week has highlighted the need for a reform of the National Immunisation Program, with the electorate of Grey suffering with regards to preventable diseases.
The ‘Risk To Resilience’ report uncovered that Grey is one of the top 20 electorates with the lowest reported income per week, on $643, and highest rates of locals over 50 years of age having more than one diagnosis, at over 52 per cent.
As well as identifying barriers to vaccination, the report calls for governments to partner with industry experts, healthcare professionals and consumers to reform reimbursement systems and prioritise adult vaccination, given the aging population.
