Streaky Bay has been named the second‑hottest housing market in South Australia, according to new real estate data.

The West Coast town recorded 22 per cent growth over the past 12 months, well above the regional average, placing it just behind Port Augusta statewide.

With a median house price of around $547,000, the figures highlight continued demand for more affordable regional and coastal communities, including areas across the Eyre Peninsula.

Analysts say regional centres are increasingly attracting buyers priced out of capital cities, with affordability remaining a key driver of growth.

Several other regional towns also featured strongly in the latest rankings, reinforcing the ongoing shift towards regional living.
