Nursing and midwifery students can now access a simulated hospital environment in Whyalla with the re-launch of Horizon Hospital and Health Service.
The purpose-built teaching hospital opened its doors to students and clinicians last Friday, 10 May.
The upgrades include more beds, computers at each station, extra oxygen and suction systems, a new medical safe and fridge, ceiling-mounted camera systems for assessment, as well as furnishings and fresh paint throughout.
University of South Australia Clinical and Health Sciences Technical Officer Louise McGee says the new facilities mean students will gain first-class clinical experiences in Whyalla.
