The Port Lincoln Football League is calling on local women to gear up and give the upcoming season a crack.
The women’s footy season is expected to return to Port Lincoln and is set to commence in a months’ time on February 12th with the league seeking expressions of interest for players.
Football League Operations Manager Quinn Dutschke says they will have two grades including under 15s and Open Age.
Women interested in signing up are also being invited to join a training session with the Norwood Football Club at 7pm on January 29th at Centenary Oval.
“We’re running a training for any interested players to come along and learn a little bit about footy and the pathways that are available as well but also just provide an opportunity to learn some skills and get knowledge from somebody who is obviously quite experienced.
“Look, I just believe that, you know everybody should have the opportunity to get involved in the game of footy and if we want to see things like this grow then we just we need people to sort of put themselves out there and give it a crack and come along and see what it's like.” said Quinn.
