2021 Port Lincoln Art Prize Exhibition Officially Open

The 2021 Port Lincoln Art Prize saw its award presentation last night at the Nautilus Art Center, displaying an array of incredible artwork.

Up to 68 artists entered the evolving art competition with 83 pieces submitted.

This year was the first year a sculpture category was introduced with 9 award categories in total and a prize pool of up to $11,000.

The Port Lincoln Bendigo Community Bank Major Award was awarded to Olivia White for her piece “Guilt Salad” receiving $8,500 in prize money and also taking out the Hangers choice award.

Miss White says her piece was heavily inspired by social media and the irresistible images that we fed every day that look so yummy and delicious but are unfulfilling, rapid and empty.

The art exhibition will be on display until the end of February with locals invited to vote in the people choice award which will be announced on February 27th.

This year, for the first time, will see the Port Lincoln Art prize displayed virtually online for anyone wanting to view the exhibition.
