Proposed Graphite Mine Receives Major Project Status

A proposed Eyre Peninsula graphite mine and battery anode material operation is gaining momentum, as the Federal Government grants the proposal Major Protect Status.

SA-based Renascor Resources is looking to develop its Siviour mine near Arno Bay, as well as creating two processing facilities, which would create up to 200 ongoing positions.

The status helps projects over 50 million dollars get extra support from the Federal Government’s Major Project Facilitation Agency, which provides information and help with regulatory approvals.

A final investment decision for the 210-million-dollar project is expected next year.
