Port Lincoln pilots are being urged not to push beyond their limits in a new aviation seminar, set to be held in the city next week.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has launched a new safety education campaign, putting the spotlight on avoiding risky behaviour when flying, with 80 per cent of aviation accidents linked to mistakes, errors or incorrect judgement.
In a statement, the Authority’s Peter Gibson says Port Lincoln pilots have comprehensive safety training and the campaign provides more knowledge on how to prevent accidents and incidents.
Mr Gibson says lessons from past accidents and incidents will be highlighted, and issues such as fatigue, distractions and loss of situational awareness will be a focus.
The safety seminar, held by the Authority, will be held at the Port Lincoln Flying Club on the 29th of October.
