Prescribed Burn Taking Place at Duck Ponds

A prescribed burn is taking place at Duck Ponds this morning, in order to reduce the risk of bushfire impacting the Port Lincoln and Tulka communities.

The burn will start at 9:30am, affecting over 34 hectares of private land, in order to create a low fuel area.

Last month, the National Parks and Wildlife Service announced 90 prescribed burns will take place on around 9-thousand hectares of public and private land across the state, through spring 2021 and autumn 2022.

The burns will be carried out by the service, in conjunction with the CFS and MFS.
