As they look to build ambulance capacity across the state, the Ambulance Employees Association is calling for 3 more ambulances in Whyalla.
Last week, the association outlined 20 recommendations in a new document, aiming to strengthen resilience in the ambulance service across South Australia.
The association has called for a new 24-hour paramedic ambulance for Whyalla, and two new regional medical transfer ambulances to match a growing demand for ambulance services.
In May, a 14 year old Whyalla resident was reportedly carried to hospital by their parents because there wasn’t a single ambulance available.
The three ambulances are part of the sixteen additional ambulances called for in regional SA in the document.
