11 local community groups will share in more than $56,000 in the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula’s latest round of Community Grants.
The Cummins Bowling Club received $5,000 for a synthetic surface upgrade, while the Cummins School Chaplaincy Group received $5,000 to upgrade the outdoor area for pre-schoolers and the Lower Eyre Coast Care Association received almost $14,000 for vegetation restoration and access management at Greenly Beach.
4 organisations were selected to receive a 2021/22 Community Halls Support Program grant, including the Coffin Bay Progress Association for repairs to the hall ceiling and roof and the North Shields Soldiers Memorial Hall to replace the front verandah.
In a statement, Mayor Jo-Anne Quigley said council was really pleased to be able to grant funding to all groups that applied in the 2021/22 funding round.
She said it was exciting to see a great variation of sporting, community and environmental organisations take the initiative and be proactive about improving their area.
