Eyre Peninsula residents will soon benefit from new local-led projects, funded through a new grants round.
Over $775,000 will go towards 67 projects across regional Australia, through the new round of the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal's Strengthening Rural Communities program.
$10,000 will be given to the District Council of Streaky Bay to develop volunteers capability and build leadership skills by providing a non-for-profit operations training program, helping to upskill volunteers.
Another $8,500 will go towards the Fat Farmers: Rural Health Initiative to enhance physical and mental health in Cummins by promoting a community fitness group.
