Eyre Peninsula locals that completed a Federal Government program received $12,000 in grant money to support two iniatives, helping to build long-term resilience in the region.
Of the 18 people who completed the Drought Resilience Leaders Development Program, three successfully applied for the community extension grants.
With the support of the funding, $4,000 will go towards the 'Tales of Eyre' project, designed to encourage connection and conversation within the broader district by speaking to people about their experiences living here and hardships that come with living in a remote community.
A number of podcast style episodes will be developed, featuring four interviews with Wudinna district community members.
$8,000 will also go towards developing a community reference group and work to develop a narrative for Port Lincoln through the lens of the seafood industry, leading to new signage at the Lincoln Cove marina.
