New Campaign Urges People to Keep ED's for Emergencies

The State Government has launched a new campaign, urging South Aussies to keep emergency departments for emergencies.

The EDs are for Emergencies campaign is looking to assist hospitals and health care workers as they face enormous pressure during winter, coupled with a new COVID strain predicted to spike in mid-July.

To support the health system across the state, a Winter Demand Strategy has also been implemented, which includes opening extra beds and providing more care in the community, including flu shots, so people can avoid the need to go to hospital.

For minor illness or injury, residents are encouraged to visit their local GP, pharmacist, after-hours clinic, or virtual care service.
