Reminder to Lock Cars After Rise in Valuables Theft

Port Lincoln police have reminded residents to lock and remove valuables from their cars, following a recent increase in theft.

Over the past month, six cars have been interfered with and wallets, cash, cards, ID, clothing, sunglasses and other items have been stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Locals are encouraged to report any offences to police immediately, and to further reduce your chances of becoming a victim, lock car doors and windows, install audible alarms, park in well-lit areas at night and remove any valuables from your vehicle.

If anyone has seen anything suspicious, contact the police assistance line on 131 444.
