Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards

The Australia Day Citizen of the Year Award nominations have been considered with Gavin Roberts awarded the Citizen of the Year by a panel of community representatives. Eleven nominations were received across  three categories this year.

The quality of the nominations was extremely high with all nominees worthy contenders for an award.

The 2017 Award winners are:

Citizen of the Year - Gavin Roberts

Young Citizen of the Year - Rebekah Danzic

Community Event of the Year 2017 - Teakle Auto Sprint

The winners will be officially awarded and celebrated at the Australia Day celebrations being held on the Port Lincoln foreshore on Friday 26 January, 2018 with official proceedings commencing at 10am.

Mayor Bruce Green said “I am proud to be a part of the Australia Day celebrations, acknowledging and celebrating the people in our community, and those who make a difference to others through their selfless and outstanding contributions through various forms. These are the people who make our community a better place to live and be involved in”.
