The University of Queensland is set to host community consultation sessions in Kimba as part of its research into regional communities.

The research is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science as part of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility planning.

University of Queensland spokesperson, Professor Peta Ashworth, said that the research aims to give community members an opportunity to discuss the values, concerns and aspirations they have for their community.

Researchers will be on hand in Kimba from 9am tomorrow and will also be available throughout Saturday and Sunday morning.
