The DK Quarries Kimba Cup is set to commence this Sunday at Ravendale Racecourse with the day due to be a big one.
This year will be the 106th running of the Kimba cup being one of the longest-running annual races on the Eyre Peninsula.
The day will be a family fun day with face painting, a bouncy castle, ice-cream and live entertainment.
Fashion on the Fields competition will have $1000 cash prize on offer for Best dressed Womenswear, along with runner up Womenswear, best Millinery, Best Woman’s footwear and Best Dressed Menswear.
The gates open at 10.30am with the first race to kick off at 12.45 pm and the Kimba cup itself to be held at 4 pm with $25,000 up for grabs for the cup winner.
Michael Seal Kimba Racing Cup President says the weather is looking fantastic lining up to be a good day with a field of 11 races to fill the day.
“Horses to beat will be Lincoln Cup winner Lady Conquistador and Bramfield who was runner up, so they will be flat out trying to win that race again.” Said Mr. Seal
