Man Charged for Causing Death Following Tumby Bay Crash

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without due care after a fatal crash in Tumby Bay last week. 

 Major Crash Investigators arrested and charged the 18-year-old man from the central Eyre Peninsula region about 11 am today.

He was granted bail and will appear in Port Lincoln Magistrate Court on 17 July.

About 4.40am on Saturday 18 May, emergency services were called to a single vehicle rollover on Bratten Road, Tumby Bay, near the silos.

The accused, the driver of the Holden sedan, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.  

Sadly, his passenger, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene.
