Locals Farmers Encouraged to Take Up Drought Rebate Scheme

drought rebate scheme

Local farmers are being reminded that the On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate scheme is still available for drought-affected farmers on the Eyre Peninsula.

The aim of this rebate is to help primary producers improve productivity, lessen degradation of natural watering points, address animal welfare needs and become more resilient for future droughts.

These on-farm investments will help farmers install new water infrastructure to improve drought resilience and protect livestock.

As part of the On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate scheme, eligible farmers can access a one-off 25% rebate up to $25,000 and covers work undertaken from 1 July 2018.

Eligible farmers can apply for the rebate through the State Government’s Department for Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA).

The rebate scheme will close on 31 March 2021 or when the funding allocation is exhausted.

For more information, locals can contact PIRSA.
