Stamp Collecting Month

Worm farms, veggie patches and nest boxes are just some of the topics local students are set to discuss during Stamp Collecting Month throughout August.

To mark the occasion, Australia Post has released a series of stamps displaying a range of sustainable gardening projects, supported by lesson plans for students in grades 3 to 6.

This year's ambassador is high-profile cook and sustainability advocate, Stephanie Alexander, who believes they'll be a great conversation starter for the classroom.

"Well stamp collecting month is about promoting the hobby of stamp collecting, it’s also about getting local schools to consider having a beautiful garden and I’m a great believer in the importance in educating young kids in enjoyable ways of improving their understanding doing good things for the environment and their health.” Stephanie said.
