Former Tumby Bay Footballer Wins 2019 Magarey Medal

Former Tumby Bay Footballer, Luke Partington has won the 2019 Magarey Medal as the best and fairest player in the South Australian National Football League.

Partington who plays for Glenelg after being delisted by the West Coast Eagles at the end of last season polled  26 votes beating home Adelaides Paul Wilson by 5 votes.

In accepting his award Partington paid tribute to his mother and said he still has a goal of breaking back into the AFL but in the meantime was concentrating on enjoying playing for Glenelg and setting himself up for life outside of football.

Partingtons attention will now be focused on this weeks South Australian prelim final as he and his Glenelg team mates prepare to take on Adelaide this Sunday for the right to play Port Adelaide in the Grand Final.
