Four Port Lincoln Schools are among many other regional schools who are now connected to high-speed internet under the Marshal Liberal Governments $80 million dollar project.
Port Lincoln schools include:
- Port Lincoln Primary School
- Port Lincoln High School
- Kirton Point Primary School
- Port Lincoln Junior Primary School
The project aims to improve internet speeds, reliability and overall performance significantly, which will also have a positive impact on educational possibilities for teaching staff and students.
Another two schools are next to be upgraded before term 4 including Lincoln Gardens School and Port Lincoln Special School, while other schools in the region are set to be switched over by mid next year.
Education Minister John Gardner says fast and reliable internet is essential to deliver the modern education that local students need.
Fast, reliable internet helps our educator’s access the tools they need to deliver world-class education and gives students the chance to connect, collaborate and create in ways like never before.
By mid-2020, the project will deliver speeds of up to 1GB per second to all government school site across the state.”
