The Teakle Auto Sprint Port Lincoln saw its launch for 2020 on Friday with the announcement that competitors will be driving the ‘long track’ for both days of the event.
The event will be held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of April 2020, with six large screens to feature around the track live streaming providing more access to the racing action for spectators.
Seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner and Australian Hall of Fame racing car driver Jim Richards will also be an addition to next year’s street race.
Richards will be joining the race in his Shannon’s Porsche GT3 RS.
The anticipated event will see up to 75 drivers and a variety of cars competing from muscle cars, the latest Exotic Supercars to Dan Day in his Subaru STI.
A 1988 Larrousse Lola Formula 1 Race Car to participate in the 2020 Teakle Auto Sprint, performing demonstration laps during both days of the event. Owner/Driver Brenton Griguol last competed in this car at the Adelaide F1 Grand Prix in 1988.
The grassed area along Tasman Terrace will again be used to display the events cars for spectators to meet drivers.
