Drivers Caught Under The Influence in Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln police have detected 5 drivers under the influence over the weekend including 4 women and one male.

About 6 pm on Friday, police stopped a ute on Verran Terrace for a random driver test.

The driver, a 35-year-old local woman tested positive to methamphetamine.

A few hours later, police stopped a Holden sedan on Porter Street for a random driver testing.

The driver, a 32-year-old Port Lincoln woman tested positive to methamphetamine.

Both drivers were issued a 24-hour Driver Direction Notice, and may face further charges following forensically analysed.

About 4pm on Saturday, police stopped a 48-year-old Port Lincoln woman who returned a positive reading of 0.118.

 She was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence notice, and had her car Impounded for 28 days. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police later stopped a 30-year-old Port Lincoln woman who returned a positive reading of 0.053. She was issued an $803 expiation notice and four demerit points.

And at about 7.30pm, police stopped a 39-year-old Port Lincoln man on Barley road returned a positive reading of 0.124.

He was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence notice, and had his car impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
