Pathologists are joining calls for children across the Eyre Peninsula to be vaccinated against the flu this winter, amid concerns about declining GP visits due to COVID-19.
For the first time, all children aged six months to five years are eligible to receive a free influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program.
RCPA Spokesperson, Doctor Brendan McMullan, says it's vital local children are kept up-to-date with their immunizations.
"I'd encouraged parents to talk to their GP's about getting this done, all aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people aged 6 months and over are eligible for free flu vaccines in Australia as well as pregnant women people aged 65 years and over and people who have certain medical conditions." said Brednan.
