Locals living in the Kimba district and surrounding areas are being invited to join the Kimba State emergency Services information session next Tuesday 4th of August from 7pm at the Kimba SES Unit.
The Kimba SES is looking to expand their team of volunteers who are passionate about helping their community and gaining new skills in a variety of areas in both operational and nonoperational roles.
North Region Volunteer Recruitment Officer Max Coulson says they're looking for anyone with business skills, administration support or hands-on skills.
“The benefits of joining the SES, in general, are gaining new skills, so we’re after people who might have some practical hands-on skills cause we’re looking at expanding our road crash, land search, general rescue and assisting with coms crews.
“So yeah basically anyone that’s capable of walking and talking and coming through the door with a great attitude and wanting to help their community; that’s what we’re after.” Said Max.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to visit the Kimba SES Facebook event and register for the event.
This Wednesday 29th July the Port Lincoln SES will also be hosting a recruitment information night from 7pm for community members to attend and learn more about the SES and how they can join.
