A Ceduna man has been arrested over the weekend after being caught drink riding on an unroadworthy bike.

On Saturday night 19 September, police received information from the public regarding a man riding a motorcycle with no helmet and shining a torch with one hand.

Police stopped the rider and discovered the motorcycle was a pit bike that had no lights or indicators, and was also unregistered and uninsured.

Checks on the rider revealed he had never held a motorcycle licence.

He was breath tested and produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.125.

The 47-year-old rider was charged with several offences, his bike was impounded and was issued a 6-month loss of licence. He was bailed to appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court on 26 October.
