Gambling Concerns Despite Decline in Regional Areas

A new study has raised concerns about the amount of money some people are gambling during COVID-19 despite an overall decline in regional and remote areas.

The national survey found 1 in 3 gamblers signed up for new betting accounts during the pandemic, with young men accounting for the largest spike in gambling spend.

However, Doctor Rebecca Jenkinson from the Australian Gambling Research Centre says there were some positive findings around people seeking and receiving help.
