Eyre Peninsula residents living with asthma are being urged to make sure they're up-to-date with their treatments and asthma action plan.
It comes as latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show there were 421 asthma-related deaths across the country in 2019, up from 395 the previous year.
Experts are particularly worried about the number of women under the age of 54 who've succumbed to the condition.
Doctor Jonathan Burdon from the National Asthma Council says it's a timely reminder to check with your GP or specialist and ensure the condition is being properly managed.
